Co-op shoppers in Exmouth stores can bag Pete's Dragons charity a big cash boost during 2019

An Exmouth charity helping suicide bereaved families across Devon can get a vital cash boost from shoppers in the town.

Pete’s Dragons, based in Exeter Road, has been selected as a beneficiary of the Co-op Local Community Fund.

The scheme sees one per cent of what Co-op members spend on selected own-branded products and services go towards helping fund community projects where they live.

Members can go online and choose which cause their one per cent goes to – so the more in Exmouth who pick Pete’s Dragons, the more money it will get.

Customers of the Co-op Magnolia Walk and Littleham Cross stores are being urged to boost the cause. Palmers Funeral Directors, in Rolle Street, is also part of the scheme.

Kate Bedding, project manager at Pete’s Dragons, said: “The generosity of Co-op customers will enable us to continue the essential work we are doing in Exmouth and across Devon supporting those who have been bereaved by suicide.

“This money will help continue to fund services that would not otherwise be available to many of our beneficiaries. This includes counselling, children and family fun days and wellbeing sessions.”
