Why Pete's Dragons? In January of 2010 Peter Wicks passed away. He was aged just 24 and the younger brother of Diva Dragon. Diva and her friends decided that the only way to say thank you to the people and agencies who helped Pete’s family and friends through this hard time was to raise money and awareness for them; to ensure that they can help other families in their time of need. When tidying Pete’s bedroom, Diva found the Dragon (now our logo) which Pete had recently had commissioned to put on his car. Hence the birth of Pete’s Dragons. Three normal(ish) hard working ladies, all with demanding jobs, families to look after and very little spare time. Despite this the challenge was set; to raise as much money as possible for the chosen charities. They signed up for the Great British Bike Ride 2010, four days, four hundred miles from lands End to Twickenham. A massive undertaking made slightly tricker by the fact that in March of that same year Diva herself couldnt ride a bike!! We all completed the challenge on the 4th September 2010 The sound of the cheering as we cycled around Twickenham stadium is something to remember!!! In 2010 the Dragons very proudly raised over Five Thousand Pounds which they paid out to the charities they support. This year so far the Dragons have continued their monthly car boot sales at Launceston College and Mummy and Auntie Dragon (both terrified of heights) hurled themselves down the largest zipwire in the UK at Adrenaline Quarry, Liskeard; netting the cause over £500 for just a few minutes of (terrifying!) work. Watch HereGood Job ladies!!! On the 4th September this year Dragon Bex commenced her challenge which was to climb to the top of Mount Killimanjaro in Tanzania. She decided to support Balloons with the money she raised. She completed her challenge at 5.12am on the 8th September.
