Cornwall Search and Rescue Team |

On the 15th October 2011 the Dragon team was invited to join the Cornwall Search and Rescue Team for a presentation evening. Last year the Dragons donated £4,300 to the Team. This was raised through the original Dragons - Diva, Ditsey and Dreggie cycling from Lands End to Twickenham as well as numerous other fundraisers that ran alongside the ride. Lots and lots of people helped the Dragons to raise the money in many different ways. The Dragons were delighted to receive the invitation and gathered a team of available Dragons to attend. At this point we had no idea what the money had been spent on.
Imagine our surprise and delight to discover that we had funded a whole new Landrover AND the Team had decided to have it display the Dragon Logo.
It is probably no surprise for you to learn that there have been a few (very happy) tears.
There is an ongoing arguement about who is responsible for the birth of the Dragons, Ditsey says Diva, Diva says Ditsey - I think you will all agree that it was a fabulous one anyway and I can assure you we never dreamed that we would be able to raise enough money to buy a landrover!!!
We are feeling very very proud at the moment - of ourselves and every single person who has supported us. The mini "Dragon Wagon" will be a daily reminder of just what can be achieved when you set your mind to it |
